Coronavirus infection rates have fallen in seven boroughs of Greater Manchester. They have risen in two areas (Tameside and Bolton) and remained the same in one (Trafford), according to the latest figures released by Public Health England (PHE).
Tameside now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, replacing Trafford. READ MORE: When is the stamp duty holiday deadline? The borough recorded a rate of 349.6 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending August 17, according to the latest PHE data.
The lowest infection rate is in Bolton, where the rate is 226.2 cases per 100,000 people. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 306.8 cases per 100,000 population.
