Coronation Street fans left outraged as soap 'oversteps the mark' with Roy Cropper twist

Coronation Street fans are often left heartbroken by deaths on the street but if anything happens to Weatherfield's beloved four-legged residents, all hell breaks loose.

And so it's no surprise that the latest twist involving Roy Cropper has sparked quite the reaction. As viewers of the ITV soap know, Roy is currently behind bars after DS Lisa Swain decided he was her man and charged him with the murder of Lauren Bolton.

The teenager suddenly disappeared on February 23 following weeks of unusual behaviour linked to a 'mystery boyfriend'. It was her new friend and love interest Bobby who discovered she'd gone but wasn't taken too seriously when he filed a missing persons report.

However, things soon changed when blood was found in the flat she had occupied and with Swain involved, she set about finding the culprit behind Lauren's disappearance.
