‘Complacent’ Scots jail nurse left drugs trolley unattended three times at HMP Low Moss

HMP Low Moss has been branded ‘complacent’ by a health watchdog. Caroline Ann Donald was found to have left the medication cart in an unsecured area of the Bishopbriggs jail on three occasions while carrying out her rounds in 2018.

She was also found to have breached prison protocols by entering a prisoner’s cell unaccompanied by jail staff over a three day period in June of the same year.

The qualified nurse, who previously had an unblemished career, was suspended from duty and an internal investigation was launched.A search of her personal locker later uncovered several medical items including a prisoner’s EpiPen and a blood pressure monitor.Donald later resigned before a full probe into her actions could be completed but she was later.
