Child Benefit payments may be delayed for some parents next week - all you need to know

Child Benefit is usually paid every four weeks either on a Monday or a Tuesday, however, there is a bank holiday next week which may affect some payments.

When a benefits payment falls on a bank holiday, it is usually paid on a different date. Most Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) payments will be processed the first working day before it, however, this doesn't always apply to Child Benefit.

Monday, August 3 is the next Scottish bank holiday - which means anyone due to receive a Child Benefit payment on that date will receive it a day later - on Tuesday, August 4.
