The actor first appeared as the Marvel superhero in Captain America: Civil War. In 2018 he made history as the the first black superhero lead when he starred as King T’Challa in Black Panther.Boseman died at home in Los Angeles after suffering from colon cancer.

In a statement posted on Twitter his family and friends revealed that all of his films were shot “during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy”.The news that Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, but chose not to make the news public, has been particularly complex for people to process.Boseman’s passing has started a conversation about how everyone is going through hidden pain behind closed doors.
