Castle Douglas Community Centre Trust has been thrown a £25,000 lifeline to keep it running.The popular hub has been lying idle for three months under the Covid-19 lockdown.The Scottish Government emergency cash means trustees now have a breathing space to plan ahead.Community centre trustee David Vickers said: “Not only does this award secure our future, it allows us time and space to look at new ways to use the community centre.“We can now undertake much-needed developments to improve cost control and accessibility for our members.”Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG) helped with the trust’s leisure and hospitality grant bid.TSDG engagement officer David Link assisted the trust with the application process.Mr Link was delighted the.
