Campaigners say they have 'fresh hope' of saving the Belle Vue greyhound stadium - but they are running out of time

Belle Vue's historic greyhound track say they have been given fresh hope after being given the chance to lodge a bid to buy it.

However a developer who wants to demolish it and replace it with a new housing estate say they are pushing ahead with their plans.

The stadium in Gorton, which first opened in 1926 and was the first purpose built greyhound track in the country, closed its doors at the onset of the pandemic back in March with bosses announcing early last month it would not be re-opening.
