Cameron Diaz has announced her ‘un-retirement’ from acting after an eight-year hiatus in a tweet sent by her new co-star Jamie Foxx.
Foxx uploaded a phone conversation with Diaz in which he looped in NFL star Tom Brady to give the 49-year-old some tips on how to un-retire, which Brady said he had been “relatively successful” in doing.
Diaz’ last major acting role came in the 2014 film Annie, in which she played Miss Hannigan, but is set to star in the new Netflix film Back in Action alongside Foxx, with the pair having previously worked together in both Annie and 1999’s Any Given Sunday.
Diaz said she was “anxious” but also “excited” about the announcement with the actor previously saying she had officially retired from acting in 2018.
