Bus and tram passengers with concessionary passes will be able to travel during the morning rush hour from Friday - to make it easier to get the shopping in.

Concessionary pass holders usually pay full adult fare to travel before 9.30am. But peak time restrictions will be lifted for Greater Manchester’s older and disabled citizens as of March 20, to coincide with supermarkets’ new ringfenced shopping periods for those most vulnerable to Covid-19.

While unnecessary travel is discouraged, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has taken the decision knowing that many people will have no choice but to venture out.
