The distinctive smell of burning charcoal and charred meat will fill suburban streets as Sainsbury's predicted 34 million will fire up their barbecues.

Waitrose said it expected sales of burgers and sausages to rise by 34 per cent and 29 per cent respectively, the Mirror reports.

While the Easter weather is not as balmy as it has been over recent days, it is going to be relatively kind for most people allowing them to take advantage of the relaxation of coronavirus rules, allowing six people or two households to meet up outdoors.
