Britain’s Got Talent bosses to audition abroad in bid to save new series from Covid

DESPERATE Britain’s Got Talent bosses will hold auditions around the world rather than in Covid-hit London. Acts will be filmed abroad for the first time and relayed to the celebrity judges in the UK.

The move is to save the new series of the popular ITV show, due to go ahead later this month at the London Coliseum theatre, amid stringent Tier 4 rules.

The new format was road-tested during the semi-final when Indian dance troupe X1X Crew were unable to fly in. Increasingly, international acts have ­auditioned — but they had to come to the UK.

A source said: “It would get around the fact that acts can’t fly in to take part in the show as they normally do and mean bosses can still put on a show.
