Brave Scots medics battling against pandemic pictured saving lives of virus victims

Striking images have captured the efforts of brave frontline medical staff battling to keep coronavirus patients alive at a Scots hospital.

The series of photographs were taken by Christopher Bobyn of BBC Scotland's The Nine show after being granted access to the ICU at Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

The health facility usually has one intensive care unit but due to the scale of the pandemic, this has been increased to two Covid wards alongside two additional ICU areas.
