Biodegradable library cards coming to Trafford

The council is introducing eco-friendly cards across its 12 libraries. The cards are being brought int to replace the plastic versions.

Town hall chiefs are trying to cut down on the use of single-use plastics. Later this year, any new library members requesting a card will be given a biodegradable one.

Eventually, plastic cards will be naturally phased out. Trafford libraries have also been rolling out environmentally focused children’s activities including making seedbombs, birdfeeders, bike decorations and a themed summer reading challenge.
