Young Ayrshire rugby players have urged drivers to wear a seatbelt as they back a hard-hitting road safety campaign.Players and coaches at Marr Rugby Club are reminding fans that getting behind the wheel without a seatbelt could cost them their lives.The Troon club connected to secondary school Marr College has backed the new campaign with the message ‘It’s not just you that gets hurt.’Players Scott Rodger, Jack Dunsmuir, Isaac Renucci, Kyle McCulloch and Roddy Fell along with coach Kenny Diffenthal have all gotten behind the campaign.It comes as figures revealed that 13 percent of those killed on Scots roads over the last five years were not wearing a seatbelt.And new research has revealed that almost one in ten drivers always drive a car without wearing one.Kenny Diffenthal, Marr Rugby Club coach said: “We know far too many young people take risks while driving.

The consequences of not wearing a seatbelt can be huge - not just for the driver and passengers but for their loved ones if the unthinkable happens."We're getting behind this important campaign with a poignant message: it's not just you who gets hurt.
