Armed police swooped on a Kirkcaldy street following reports of concern for a person. Police and firearms officers were called to the town’s Lansbury Street at around 2.30pm on Friday.

A force spokesperson said a 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with a breach of the peace and is due to appear in court on Monday.

Pictures shared on the Fife Jammer Locations Facebook page on Friday afternoon showed at least five police cars parked on the street, while video footage showed officers carrying weapons outside a property.

Images shared with the Record also showed several police vehicles parked at the town’s ice rink before the incident in Lansbury Street.
