Anthony Rhulen, a producer known for The Butterfly Effect, died on Jan.15 according to a report in The Times Herald-Record.He was 51.
The newspaper noted that he passed away in Pasadena from reasons relating to addiction. Rhulen was born in 1969 in Monticello, New York, and began his working life in insurance before starting a producing career in 2001 with the romantic thrillerOstarring Josh Hartnett and Julia Stiles.
He went on to found the company Film Engine, which financed and produced thirteen films includingThe Butterfly Effect (and its sequel), The Rum Diary, The Cleanerand Killing Season.
In 2010, Rhulen received the Dream Award by Hollywood Arts in recognition of his work with homeless youth. Rhulen is remembered for his generous.
