Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A resident has hit out over the “decimation” of hedges beside Chivas’ warehouses in Dumbuck.Workers were seen last week pulling down hedges along the perimeter of the bonds, with new fencing erected.

Chivas Brothers say it is carrying out essential maintenance and safety work at their site on Glasgow Road in Dumbarton. But an Oaktree Gardens resident described it as “devastation”, telling the Lennox Herald: “It’s like the Amazonian forest out there.“The hedges have been completely decimated from Dumbuck Crescent all along Glasgow Road."Chivas say it has retained some hedges, but the resident said: “I’m not sure where they have left the hedges as there are none near us.“Are they going to replant anything against the new fences?”The whisky giant says the work maintains the safety of its neighbours in accordance with Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) regulations, meaning it must meet requirements for using and storing dangerous substances.A Chivas Brothers spokesperson said: “We’ve been carrying out essential maintenance and safety work at the perimeter of our Dumbarton site.“As a tier one COMAH site in the estate, maintaining the safety of our neighbours is our utmost priority whilst respecting biodiversity across the estate.“Heavily overgrown hedges and undergrowth had to be removed in certain areas to fit new fencing but we also retained trees and hedges to respect the local environment.”
