National Trust for Scotland.Built for David Erskine, 13th Laird of Dun, and designed in the Palladian style by renowned architect William Adam, House of Dun is the perfect example of a Georgian mansion house.Work began in 1730 and it took 13 years to complete.

The attention to detail and style can be seen in the smallest features. Look out for the breathtaking plasterwork by Joseph Enzer depicting both classical scenes and family emblems.

The House of Dun is newly refurbished and restored and is now also home to the Angus Folk collection which tells the story of the agricultural history and life of the area with an extraordinary collection of items donated by Jean, Lady Maitland who gave her collections to the nation in the 1950s.
