Alicia Vikander will not be back as Lara Croft. The Oscar-winning actress starred in the 2018 reboot Tomb Raider and she was slated to appear in a Misha Green-directed sequel, but now it’s no longer happening.

MGM has lost the rights to the project and a bidding war has begun for a new studio to obtain the rights to the Tomb Raider franchise.
