Wombling in Winchburgh has won an inspiring litter picker a coveted accolade from a national charity.Environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful, has presented Winchburgh resident, Aileen Murdoch, with a Clean Up Scotland Hero award for her tireless weekly efforts to litter pick come rain or shine.Aileen litter picked locally for years before working with the Winchburgh Community Growing Group to launch the Winchburgh Wombles - inspired by the cuddly anti-litter characters from the acclaimed BBC TV series.In June 2020, she racked up the most hours and bags as part of the group’s total of 169 hours and 9090 bags.
