A man remains on top of a crane in Salford this afternoon as his protest enters a second day. The man scaled the huge Heyrod crane on Chapel Street, Salford, near Manchester city centre at around 5am yesterday morning (Monday).
Police and fire crews attended with locals saying officers spent all of yesterday trying to communicate with him. However nearby residents say the man told officers he was not coming down and that he could stay up there for at least a week.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed the main remains on the crane and that officers remain at the scene.
No further details about the incident have yet been released by the force, however.
