Senior residents' group in Lanarkshire get away for the day with bus run

A group of senior residents from Newmains and the surrounding areas recently enjoyed an away day.The SWELS (Seniors with Energetic Lifestyles) members went on a bus run and headed off to Stirling for a change of scenery.Chairman Eddie McCann gathered the group’s members together for photographs outside the NCT Centre in Newmains before they set off for the day.

And local councillor Nicky Shevlin who has been very supportive of the group was on hand to wave them off on their bus trip.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Classes are due to be suspended for a summer break at the end of June but will return on August 15 and 18 when new members will be made most welcome.SWELS next project will be an afternoon Tea Dance on Tuesday, October 4 in the NCT building, please check the notice board in the centre for further information.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
