A young woman enjoying a night out was knocked unconscious and left with a jaw broken in four places after a row over a taxi in Chorlton.

The 'completely unprovoked attack' happened near a taxi rank on Keppel Road in the early hours of Monday, March 16. A 29-year-old woman had been out with her boyfriend, 30, and sister, aged 33, when they were subjected to a 'brutal' attack at the hands of two men, police said.

The trio were waiting outside Goodwins Olympic Taxi Rank at around 12.45am and were next in the queue when the incident began.

They approached a taxi when a group of two men and two women attempted to jump in front. An argument ensued, police said, and the two men launched a violent assault of the three waiting passengers.
