Writers Guild Asks CAA, WME to Disclose Ownership Structure to Make a Deal

In an effort to break a standoff with WME and CAA, the Writers Guild of America is asking the major agencies to disclose their ownership structures as part of talks aimed at allowing the firms to represent scribes for the first time since April 2019.

The talent firms have been at odds with the Writers Guild over its call for the agencies to own no more than a 20 percent stake in their affiliate production companies.

WME is a sister company to Endeavor Content, which financially backs film and TV productions like BBC America's Killing Eve, while CAA has invested in film and TV studio wiip, which has producedApple TV+ seriesDickinson, among other projects.The guild has called such agency affiliate production a conflict of interest.
