Woman freed from serious crash on A77 before being rushed to hospital

A huge rescue effort was launched just after 5.30pm when a single car was involved in a smash on the major Ayrshire road near Bogend Toll.Emergency services including police, fire crews and ambulances raced to the northbound carriageway and the road was closed in both directions.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service freed the woman from the motor before she was rushed to hospital.Police confirmed today that the road was reopened shortly after 6pm.The condition of the woman involved in the crash is not known at this time.A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the A77 near Bogend Toll between Ayr and Kilmarnock around 5.35pm on Monday, February 15.The Ayrshire Live app is available to.
