Last week the First Minister announced Scotland's large-scale New Year's Eve celebrations are cancelled in light of rising Omicron cases and continued Covid concern.

Along with the event upset, restrictions have now been placed on hospitality venues across the country as rules fell back into place on December 27.

Rules mean that venues will now be required to limit customer numbers as well as ensuring distancing. With tighter restrictions imposed, it is set to be a different kind of New Year for a second year in a row.
