A Very British Scandal has made its’ debut on Prime Video and fans are wondering – just what castle is that?

Starring Claire Foy and Paul Bettany, the three-part series centers on The Duke and Duchess of Argyll, who went through a very public divorce in 1963.

The headline-making trial involved allegations of forgery, bribery, theft, infidelity and more. One of the settings of the series is in a very old castle and production designer Christina Moore has opened up about the importance of it in the show. It’s based on the west coast of Scotland in Inveraray. “We looked at a lot of other castles in similar landscape settings and the same area of Scotland between the east and west coasts in the highlands,” she shared. “But the exterior of Inveraray was so specific and incredibly grand.
