Iranian-Dutch singer Sevdaliza performed a handful of tracks on the latest home edition of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series from Amsterdam bookstore and publishing house, MENDO.

Backed by a quartet of musicians, she kicked the performance off with a rendition of her 2017 track "Human." Pausing for a moment, the singer welcomes viewers to the remainder of the performance with the sounds of Brazilian bossa nova in the background. "Good afternoon humans, my name is Sevdaliza.

You're very welcome on flight 808; our destination is Shabrang," she says, referring to the title of her 2020 album. From there, she continues her set with "Dormant," "All Rivers at Once," and "Gole Bi Goldoon," from Sharbang.

3 escaped California inmates recaptured, manhunt still on
Three of six inmates who escaped from a California prison in a late-night jailbreak were captured Tuesday, according to authorities.  Fabian Cruz Roman, 22, and Andres Nunez Rodriguez, 21, were "apprehended without incident" in the San Diego area and were taken into custody Tuesday night, the Merced County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.  Roman was facing murder charges, and Rodriguez was in jail on attempted murder charges, police said.  Edgar Eduardo Ventura, 22, was captured earlier in the day. He is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, participation in a criminal street gang and violation of probation.
