Layoffs have begun at Valence Media, the conglomerate that owns editorial operations like The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard, and content shops like Dick Clark Productions and Media Rights Capital.

The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Group, a centralized publishing label that comprises both trade publications, will rebrand as MRC Media, insiders familiar with the company told Variety.

On April 2, The Hollywood Reporter editorial director Matthew Belloni tweeted a link to a story in the publication about an agent who had made explosive allegations about her company after being fired.
