Vale woman vows to continue pensions fight after landmark ruling defeat
dailyrecord.co.ukGet the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A former Vale Hospital worker has told how she and her fellow 1950s women will not give up the fight after a landmark ruling went against them.Alexandria woman Elaine Neufeld was devastated when she found out that High Court judges had thrown out their appeal against what they claim is the unlawful raising of the pension age from 60 to 66.And West Dunbartonshire MP Martin Docherty-Hughes said the news was heartbreaking.The Women Against State Pension Injustice (WASPI) women, including Elaine, are fighting for recognition and compensation for the years of lost pensions.They say the change in pension age to bring women in line with men was accelerated far.
