Two police officers were injured following a crash on a busy road in Salford. Officers in an unmarked BMW collided with a Nissan Qashqai in Regent Road shortly before 4.10pm this afternoon (Saturday, April 17).

The police car was responding to an incident at the time, Greater Manchester Police has said. Pictures from the scene show the damage to both vehicles.

Following the smash, the officers stopped and gave first aid to two men before an ambulance arrived. Police say the men's injuries were only minor and they were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Two police officers also received minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment. The police car has since been recovered.
