Two people have been arrested following an early morning drugs raid in Angus on Thursday. Around 7.15am, police entered a house in Clova Road, Kirriemuir and recovered a quantity of Etizolam tablets.

The drugs, commonly known as 'street Valium', have an estimated street value of more than £28,000. A quantity of cash was also seized in the operation, officers said.

A man aged, 28 and a woman, aged 24, have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure. Both are due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday July 8, with a report to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Scott Carswell said: “This operation has resulted in harmful drugs being removed from our streets. Tackling drug dealing and drug abuse remains a priority for us and the public can be assured that we will act on information and target those involved in any criminal activity.” If you have any information on those concerned in the supply of drugs, contact Police Scotland on 101.
