Noel Clarke has said he contemplated suicide in his first interview since allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him last year.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the Bulletproof and Doctor Who star said the claims had damaged him "in a way [he] could not articulate".
In April 2021 the Guardian published allegations of misconduct from 20 women who knew Clarke in a professional capacity. The paper said Clarke's accusers claimed to have been the victim of sexual harassment, unwanted touching or groping, sexually inappropriate behaviour and comments, professional misconduct and taking and sharing sexually explicit pictures and videos without consent.
In a statement at the time Clarke said he "vehemently" denied "any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing". And he added that he was "deeply sorry" if some of his actions had affected people "in ways I did not intend or realise", and vowed to get professional help "to educate myself and change for the better".The actor, 46, also known for co-creating The Hood Trilogy of films, told The Mail On Sunday: "Twenty years of work was gone in 24 hours.
