Tribute to Paisley photographer who captured town's history for 40 years

Paisley photographer Harold Hornby could always be found with a camera in his hand. A life-long Buddie, he documented some of the town’s most historic moments, which he stored among his 4,000 slides that gave a glimpse of Paisley through the years.His love of photography, which began in the 1960s when he first bought a portable camera, stayed with him until his death on December 5 last year.He died shortly after his 101st birthday at Westerfield care home, where he lived out his final years following the death of his beloved wife Lillian.His son, Paul Hornby, 55, has now shared a selection of his thousands of images, which captured snapshots of the town’s history, including the demolition of the ‘Five Fingers’ high flats in Foxbar in 1996.
