Trevor Noah will depart “The Daily Show” on Dec. 8, Comedy Central announced Wednesday.In the buildup to the comedian’s last day hosting, “The Daily Show” will celebrate and look back on his seven year tenure as host.“Trevor is an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years,” said Chris McCarthy, president & CEO, Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios.Noah announced his departure at the end of the taping for the episode that aired Thursday, Sept.
29. He noted that that week marked his seven year anniversary with “The Daily Show.”“I found myself thinking throughout the time, you know, everything we’ve gone through, the Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey of, you know, the more pandemic,” he said in the taping. “And then, and I realized that after the seven years, my time is up.”“I’ve loved hosting the show.
It’s been one of my greatest challenges. It’s been one of my greatest joys. I have loved trying to figure out how to make people laugh, even when the stories are particularly shitty on the worst days.
