A teenage girl who died had 'no previous mental health history', an inquest opening has heard. Precious Olamiji Akinyemi, 15, was rushed to hospital after being found 'unresponsive' in the bedroom of the family home on Monday, March 28.
However, despite extensive efforts from medics, she could not be saved and died with her family at her side later that day. An inquest into her death was opened at Manchester Coroner's Court on Tuesday morning, April 19, with the girl's parents present.
A statement by Senior Police Coroner's Officer, Paul Devine, read at the hearing, said student Miss Akinyemi, who was born in Manchester in 2007, was "discovered unresponsive in the bedroom at her home." Assistant Coroner Fiona Borrill said she understood that Miss Akinyemi had 'no previous mental health history or anything of that nature at all.' She'd also had 'no involvement with child or adolescent mental health services or anything of that nature', she added.
