Trafford council reveals plan for when schools will reopen

Education bosses in Trafford have revealed their plans for getting primary schools back to the classroom. Unlike other councils, which have opposed the move to reopen schools to certain year groups next month, Trafford council says children will be back in after half term.

It won't be the June 1 date proposed by the government, as most of the borough's primary schools would have been on half term until June 8 anyway.

Similar to what's happening in Stockport, staff will be in for two days - on June 8 and 9 - before children return on Wednesday, June 10.

However, the authority has stressed that it will 'support' schools who need extra time to put measures in place. In line with the government's plan, pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6
