manchestereveningnews.co.ukdirect to your inboxUnable to open their windows, facing rising heating bills and living with fear.Those living in the five social housing blocks of Old Trafford say they've had a lot to deal with over the last few years.In 2011, contractors installed cladding on the outside of their homes.The cladding, which was to cover 15pc of each block, was the same as that installed at Grenfell tower in Kensington and Chelsea, London.The Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding, banned from use in Germany since the 1980s, went up the sides of Grafton Court, Empress Court, Princess Court, Clifton Court and Pickford Court in the north of the borough nine years ago.In 2018, after the devastating fire which killed at least 72 people in Grenfell tower.
