Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Britney Spears has an interesting connection to one of the stars of “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness,” the popular Netflix series that has captivated the nation as much as any trending topic can in 2020.

The docuseries shows the fissure between the now-incarcerated Oklahoma exotic animal park founder Joseph Maldonado-Passage and his animal rights activist rival Carole Baskin, who Maldonado-Passage, also known as “Joe Exotic,” was found guilty in 2019 of paying a hitman $3,000 to kill.  (The hitman-for-hire did not carry out the act.) One of the prominently featured personalities in “Tiger King” is Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, an animal handler who graced the stage with none other than Britney Spears when she performed “I’m a Slave 4 U” at.
