Thugs smashed up and broke into a fish and chip shop two nights in a row, breaking windows and destroying shutters. The vandals attacked Market Fish Bar in Brackley Street, Farnworth in the early hours of Thursday morning, April 16, then again on Friday morning, April 17, as shown in shocking CCTV footage.

Along with smashing a window and forcing the shutters away from the doors, the thugs also stole equipment from the property, says frustrated owner Sean O'Neill.

The break-in could not have come at a worse time, said the owner, who has been shut for four weeks amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Mr O'Neill, from Leigh, said: "It happened on consecutive nights. The first night, the shutters were forced open and the glass was smashed.
