This Morning makes huge change to iconic theme tune in uplifting nod to VE Day

This Morning made a huge change to its usual iconic theme tune to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. The ITV show scrapped its pre-recorded soundtrack and replaced it with a live band playing the tune to introduce today’s episode.

That band was the Royal Marines Band Collingwood, who set the tone for both the special occasion and for the programme itself.

Victory in Europe Day, known as VE day, marks the moment when Allied forces accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany in the Second World War.

Many viewers were impressed by the change, liking and sharing a tweet showcasing the band - who were all observing the social distancing rules.
