Each year, the month of October marks the return of Breast Cancer Awareness Month which aims to raise as much funds and awareness as it can for charities linked to the illness.

Breast Cancer Now reported that around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK but there is also an 85 percent chance of women surviving for five years or more.

To minimise the risk of the cancer spreading or returning, patients can undergo mastectomies which see’s breast tissue and lymph nodes removed.
