R&B star The Weeknd has called on his corporate “partners” in the music industry to join him in making significant donations to support Black Lives Matter causes.
The Can’t Feel My Face hitmaker has pledged a total of $500,000 to date to benefit various non-profit organizations as protests continue worldwide, demanding an end to police brutality and justice for African-American man George Floyd, who died at the hands of a white officer in Minnesota on May 25, 2020.
