The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun 'cringes' at the idea of a possible return ahead of finale

***Warning: Contains spoilers for The Walking Dead***Sorry, fans of The Walking Dead, Steven Yeun won’t be returning as Glenn Rhee before the show’s big finale later this year.

Yeun, 38, starred in the AMC post-apocalypse drama for seven seasons, racking up a total of 66 episodes in his time. In the season 7 premiere, he was memorably and brutally murdered by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and has never returned – not even in a flashback.

Fans had hoped that Yeun could somehow come back after becoming a fan favourite but, speaking to Conan O’Brien, Yeun shut those theories down. ‘The police voice in my head said, “If you do it again, you’re a hack”‘, he told the host while promoting his latest movie, Jordan Peele’s Nope. ‘So, I don’t do it again.

I cringe [at the thought]’. Conan then asked Yeun whether he wanted to leave the show before he was killed off, or whether his hand was forced. ‘I don’t have time to explain this to you, I have to go home’, he joked. ‘Sometimes you just accept what it is and you go with it.
