Today is the 59th birthday of one Diego Armando Maradona. Many would argue that Lionel Messi is the greatest Argentine player of all time but there's no question that El Diego is the most revered.
Indeed, Messi's hometown of Rosario was the site of the founding of the 'Church of Maradona' which claims 200,000 devotees around the world.
Loved in homeland for dragging his country to World Cup success in 1986, Maradona is similarly worshipped in Naples where he inspired Napoli to the only two Serie A titles in their history, as well as delivering them the UEFA Cup.
To this day flags and banners at the Stadio San Paolo pay tribute to him, with murals of his face painted on walls all over the city.
