The Academy Announces Controversial Changes to Oscars 2022
justjared.comSome new details are being revealed about the 2022 Oscars ceremony. According to IndieWire, the awards show will proceed on March 27 with a 5:00 p.m.
PT live ceremony that will feature footage of every single winner accepting their award, with eight categories being presented in the hour before the live broadcast. However, they have not promised to run their full speeches, but will be weaving live broadcast edited-down version of the first eight awards – Best Editing, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Sound, Live Action, Animated, and Documentary Shorts – throughout the rest of the show.
The Academy will also be giving some presenters and nominees staggered arrival times during the live pre-show and will be filling up the Dolby Theater with nominees, presenters and guests who are connected to the eight awards being presented first.
