The £6m transformation of Cheetham Hill's Manchester Jewish Museum is almost complete

The Cheetham Hill museum is set to welcome back visitors from Friday July 2 after two years of improvement works. The newly-extended museum will now be home to 31,000 objects in its gallery, as well as featuring a new cafe, shop, learning studio and kitchen.
Its 1874 Spanish and Portuguese synagogue - the oldest surviving synagogue in Manchester - has also been carefully restored to its former glory by a team of specialists, including historic painters and stained-glass experts.
