Tesco shoppers are being urged to check their freezers for a batch of freezer food that could potentially make you ill if you have a nut allergy.
The UK supermarket giant has urgently recalled a certain batch of their frozen croissants for health and safety reasons as they could contain undeclared almonds.
An allergy alert for the supermarket's 6 pack of All Butter Frozen Croissants (255g) was issued from The Food Standards Agency (FSA), as they contain almonds which are not mentioned on the packaging. The undeclared ingredients are thought to have been down to a packaging error, which led to some packs being incorrectly packed with Frozen All Almond Croissants.Due to the presence of almonds, the croissants pose a health risk to anyone who has a nut allergy. The allergy alert from the FSA was issued on Monday, May 23, and the affected batch has a batch code of LL 111.
The 255g pack of six croissants cost £2.50 and have a best before date of September 2022. So far no other batch codes and best before dates have been affected.
