Taylor Swift confirmed on Twitter that Scooter Braun sold the master rights to her first six albums, after Variety reported Monday that Braun had earned over $300 million in a deal with an investment fund.
In a statement shared on Twitter, Swift said she was contacted by private equity company Shamrock Holdings to confirm their purchase of her masters. "This was the second time my music had been sold without my knowledge," she wrote.
Swift and Braun have been locked in a dispute over the artist's masters since June 2019, when Braun bought Swift's former record label, Big Machine Records—and with it, the rights to her first six albums.
