Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Taylor Swift donates £23,000 to student raising funds to go to UK university

Taylor Swift has donated £23,000 to an aspiring student who lives in London and is fundraising to help pay for her university education.

The US pop star made the contribution via a Go Fund Me page raising money for Vitoria Mario which states that she may not be able to take up her place at the University of Warwick because she cannot afford to go.

According to the fundraising page, the aspiring mathematician has lived in the UK for four years after moving from Portugal and is not eligible for maintenance loans or grants.

Alongside the donation for £23,373, Swift wrote: “Vitoria, I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality. “I want to gift you the rest of your goal
